Hall School Wimbledon

Independent co-education from 4 to 16

Headmaster’s Welcome

Our school began with nine children and one teacher in a room in Wimbledon Village. It was the summer of 1990 and in their first week the children took part in an archeological dig, went horse riding and studied either in the classroom or amongst the branches of a tree on Wimbledon Common. Those nine children had twelve nationalities between them, different wants and wishes, backgrounds and experiences. What they had in common was curiosity and a strong wish to learn and be happy at school. In a sense this is their school – founded for them and evolving from all their aspirations and needs.

Hall School Wimbledon is committed to realising the potential of each of its pupils within a kind and nurturing background. We are a school for ambitious and hard working children. We are a school for families that believe in good manners, courtesy and consideration. We are a school where learning is a pleasure, not a burden and where all skills and aptitudes are regarded as of equal importance. Above all else we believe in academic success, achieved through good planning and fine teaching and the goodwill and wholehearted participation of our pupils. Although a school of over 500 children, we remain true to our founding principles and the inspiration of our first nine pupils.

If you have visited our website as a prospective Hall School Wimbledon family then I hope you find it helpful. Good luck in your search for a school and if you choose us, we would be more than delighted!
