Hall School Wimbledon employs a dynamic and enthusiastic team of people, which operates in and outside of the classroom, to provide the highest level of care and education for its pupils.
Members of our 70-strong teaching staff are drawn from a wide cross-section of backgrounds, cultures and countries, and bring a wealth of talent, energy and innovation to our school.
Recruitment of Staff
All staff undergo a rigorous recruitment process, with two rounds of interviews and the requirement to teach a current HSW class. All references are taken up, and written and spoken contact is made with referees. Hall School Wimbledon requires staff to be trained teachers with experience. Ideally staff should have secured a degree in a strong academic subject and PGCE teacher training. We want self confident, hard working and contented staff. We welcome staff that lead exciting lives and pursue sport and other interests regularly outside school. We particularly wish to ensure that staff have no concerns about teaching bright and demanding children, potentially more academically able than their teachers!
Staff Turnover
Staff turnover is balanced and appropriate, ensuring good stability and consistency without any stagnation. The gene pool of the staff room is continuously refreshed! Senior and Middle Managers have careers averaging 10 years. All other staff will average a five year career at Hall School Wimbledon. Some staff leave only to retire.
