Ann Margaret House offers a high staff to pupil ratio, allowing for individual support for pupils when required. All teaching staff are experienced in teaching individuals with autism and keep abreast of new research and current practice in the field of autism.
Senior Tutor and Head of the Department for Enhanced Learning: Jackie England BA (Hons) PGCert Autism (Children)
Mrs England studied as a mature student at Kingston University to gain her degree in primary teaching. She joined Hall School Wimbledon in 1999 to teach the Reception class and moved to Ann Margaret House in 2000. In 2002, she became Senior Tutor for Ann Margaret House and gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Autism through Birmingham University in 2003. In September 2010, Mrs England took on the role of Head of Department for Enhanced Learning at the Junior School. Outside school, her interests include reading and walking.
Class Teacher: Nadia Redwood-Sawyerr BSc (Hons)
Miss Redwood-Sawyerr joined Ann Margaret House in 2007 after completing a four-year placement degree in Psychology and Sociology and gaining a variety of experience working alongside children with autism. Her appreciation for non-verbal communication motivated her to acquire Levels 1 to 3 in British Sign Language. She is currently undertaking a Masters degree in Professional Studies in Education (Autism). Beyond school and studying for her Masters, Miss Redwood-Sawyerr enjoys socialising with friends, reading, dancing, spontaneous adventures and spending time with her loved ones.
Teaching Assistant: Kylie Todd
Miss Todd joined Ann Margaret House in September 2011. She was educated in schools in Brazil, Chile and Belgium before completing her education here in England. Kylie studied at the Guildford School of Acting where she gained a BTEC in Technical Theatre Production. Prior to working for Hall School Wimbledon, she worked at a residential home caring for the elderly and gained an NVQ2 in Health and Social Care. Kylie is now working towards an NVQ3 here at Ann Margaret House. In her free time, Kylie enjoys reading, watching movies and taking holidays!
Teaching Assistant: Russell England (Part time)
Mr England is a former pupil of Hall School Wimbledon. He left to pursue a career supporting a wide range of children and young people with impairments. After completing an NVQ3 in Playwork, Mr England designed and managed a number of play and youth schemes for disabled children before moving into a Fundraising and Marketing role. He is currently working part-time as a Teaching Assistant in Ann Margaret House. His interests include travel, music, cinema and the arts.
