Year 11S: GCSE English Speaking and Listening

In November 2011, Year 11S pupils spent a week in the Lake District as part of the school field trip programme. The English component of the trip involved a series of experiences and encounters to excite the imaginations of the children and furnish and inform their GCSE speaking assignments. The children were given guidance and a succession of lectures and workshops to give a context to their experiences and to guide their preparation.  The culmination of all of this was the speeches which the children were to deliver as part of the Speaking and Listening element of their English GCSE. Their excellent preparation and their sure determination ensured that all achieved fantastic results. A few children were persuaded to reprise their speeches for a recording.
