HSW Sponsorships

Hall School Wimbledon encourages all its pupils to participate in competitive team and individual sport in and out of school, music and art classes, and any other worthwhile activity. The discipline which regular attendance for sport involves is an invaluable experience for children. The physical fitness which sport achieves contributes to long-term benefits and a healthy and refreshed mind for schoolwork.

Hall School Wimbledon seeks to support its local community and to be an important part of its community. Throughout all year groups, significant numbers of Hall School Wimbledon pupils take part in training at Rugby, Hockey, Squash, Tennis and Badminton at local clubs.

One former pupil competes in equestrian events at national level. Four past pupils play rugby at national level. One present pupil plays squash at national level, another fences at national level and another plays badminton at a national level. All these individuals have either started their training at Hall School Wimbledon or been enthusiastically supported as they chase their ambitions.

Wimbledon Minis Rugby Football Club

Hall School Wimbledon has supported the Wimbledon Minis Rugby Football Club for 12 years and a significant number of our pupils are members. Hall School Wimbledon has the greatest respect for the quality of training and organisation of the Club. We offer our support in large measure as a way of thanking the club for its superb coaching of our pupils. The Club meanwhile is glad to recruit Hall School Wimbledon pupils, known for their good sportsmanship and range of skills.

For 10 years (2000 – 2010), Hall School Wimbledon laid on a lavish Christmas feast for the Club. These popular events (sometimes serving as many as 700 players, siblings and their parents) were funded entirely by Hall School Wimbledon. The school also introduced and makes awards to children for ‘Outstanding Sportsmanship and Team Play’ in the name of England player, Jason Leonard, who presented the inaugural award.

Wimbledon Hockey Club
Hall School Wimbledon has strong links with this excellent Hockey Club, one of the first and finest in the country. It has a very active junior section with high quality coaching. This year, Hall School Wimbledon is proud to be the Hockey Club’s Golden Sponsor and we will be encouraging pupils, both boys and girls, to become active members of Wimbledon Hockey Club. Ben Marsden and Rob Moore, who are members of Wimbledon Hockey Club and Olympic hockey players, currently coach our younger children in regular Games lessons.
