Our Ofsted inspection report was released to us yesterday, and we are delighted to announce that Hall School Wimbledon has achieved the coveted accolade of ‘outstanding’ school.

During November, the school was inspected by Jill Bainton and her Ofsted team of inspectors. The inspection report looked at three key areas of school life, which included Quality of Education; Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development of Pupils; and Welfare, Health and Safety of Pupils.

The quality of education at the school is rated ‘outstanding’ and is effectively meeting the learning needs of all our pupils. The inspectors noted that the ‘outstanding’ curriculum is enhanced by an ‘exceptional range of extra-curricular activities, off-site visits, residential trips and visiting speakers to the school’ and concluded that ‘this wider curriculum, together with the well-planned programme within the school, helps the pupils to become well-rounded individuals who are confident and knowledgeable, ready to face the next stage in their school life.’

The inspectors described the school’s teaching and assessment as ‘outstanding’ and commented on the warm, friendly atmosphere in lessons characterised by the very positive relationships between staff and the pupils and between the pupils themselves.

The spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of the pupils and children in the Early Years Foundation Stage is described as outstanding. The inspectors found the school to provide a very happy and welcoming community where all, both staff and pupils, feel valued.

The welfare, health and safety of the pupils was found to be good with an extensive range of policies in place which pay due regard to national guidance. The report noted that pupils have a clear understanding of how to live safe and healthy lifestyles; they eat healthy, wholesome meals at school and exercise regularly through their participation in the wide range of sport on offer.

Hall School Wimbledon is delighted that it is not only the inspectors that are impressed by what we offer; our parents expressed a very high degree of satisfaction with the school via Ofsted’s online parent survey. In fact, Hall School Wimbledon achieved a record for the highest approval rating from a parent group since this system was introduced.

I am delighted with our Ofsted report and would like to thank and congratulate children, staff and parents for their crucial part in this great achievement.” Tim Hobbs, Headmaster

96% of parents would recommend Hall School Wimbledon to another parent.
