HSW continued its annual tradition of celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March. Pupils in Years 1 - 8 were invited to come to school dressed up as a book character of their choice, with a £2 donation going to charity. Each form group across the whole school took part in a door competition, in which we challenge them to turn their registration doors into a portal to the world of a novel of their choosing. 

In English, pupils in Years 7 - 9 completed a week-long project, in which they had the opportunity to write a short story, which will be compiled into an anthology that we hope to self-publish as a book - the pupils' contribution to World Book Day. On the day itself, teachers across the school dedicated a few minutes of each lesson to talk about a book that they love, are currently reading or recommend specifically to each class.
