Entry requirements

We are a non-selective and inclusive Sixth Form, but entry requirements into Year 12 will vary depending on an applicant’s subject / course choices, so that we can best ensure all our students can cope and thrive, with the best possible chances of success.

As part of the admissions process, students will be required to attend an interview with the Headmaster, provide a recent reference from their current school and supply a recent school report.

Dependent upon subject choices, there will be a level of expectation and achievement from the pupils at GCSE level. Each subject has recommended entry requirements based on GCSE grades. However, these are a guide to entry and not a compulsory requirement. Should pupils underachieve at GCSE, the Headmaster and Heads of Department will have individual conversations post GCSE results day before enrolment onto their Sixth Form course. This is to ensure there are clear targets set for the students in their first term of Year 12, and that they are able to meet the demands of the course.

Next Steps

For all enquiries and information on how to register your child for a place at HSW Sixth Form for September 2024, please email our head of Admissions Mrs Alison Hart, at admissions@hsw.co.uk.

You will be warmly invited for a tour of our school and an informal discussion with our Headmaster. We will then ask you to complete a registration form outlining your child’s choice of pathway, and an interview with the Headmaster and our Head of Sixth Form will then be arranged.

We look forward to hearing from you.
