Careers Education & Guidance

Our Careers programme at Hall School Wimbledon prepares students in Years 7–13 for the opportunities and responsibilities of adult life. We provide impartial guidance that values academic, technical, and vocational pathways equally. Students are entitled to and provided with opportunities:

  • To find out about technical education qualifications and apprenticeships opportunities, as part of a careers programme which provides information on the full range of education and training options available at each transition point.
  • To hear from a range of local providers about the opportunities they offer, including technical education and apprenticeships – through options events, assemblies, group discussions, and taster events.
  • To understand how to make applications for the full range of academic and technical courses.

1. Our Careers Programme

We deliver careers education through a blended model to ensure students make informed choices at every key transition point:

  • Weekly Provision: 40-minute dedicated form time sessions.
  • Morrisby Platform: All students use Morrisby to track progress, complete psychometric profiles, and research Labour Market Information (LMI).
  • Work Experience: Comprehensive placements for Year 10 and Year 12 to develop employability skills.
  • Events: A robust calendar including an annual Careers Fair, UCAS fairs, and Job fairs.
  • Involvement: We actively engage students, parents, and employers through workshops, mentoring, and regular transition communications.

2. Gatsby Benchmarks

3. Provider Access Policy (Baker Clause)

In document compliance with Section 42B of the Education Act 1997, we welcome external education and training providers to speak to students in Years 8–13.
Provider Entitlement: Providers can request access to discuss Apprenticeships, T Levels, and Technical Education routes. We provide the necessary facilities (hall/classrooms) and AV equipment to support these encounters.

Requests for Access: All requests should be directed to the Careers Leader.
