HSW gains Ofsted seal of approval

The quality of education and care for pupils at Hall School Wimbledon has been recognised with a glowing Ofsted report. HSW was inspected at the end of February – the first inspection since the school became part of Chatsworth Schools.

The school gained an overall rating of Good and our Early Years provision was rated Outstanding. The new report is available to view in full.

The story made the headlines of the Wimbledon Guardian, as HSW is part of a very select club of only three schools that have ever improved their overall grading so much in less than one academic year.

Highlights:

  • Outstanding provision in the Early Years prepares children for Year 1 exceptionally well.
  • Pupils make good progress across the school especially in English, Maths and Science.
  • Extensive enrichment opportunities for pupils of all ages contribute well to the school’s strong provision for their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
  • It is especially pleasing that our inclusive ethos was recognised. The inspectors’ report praised the progress made by pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, who are very effectively supported so that they make comparable progress to their peers. So, too, do those children learning to speak English as an additional language.

We are incredibly proud of our staff and pupils for their hard work and commitment, without which this Ofsted result would not have been possible. So much has been achieved at HSW since the school joined Chatsworth Schools in September 2018, and we have further exciting plans in the pipeline for the months ahead.
