We are proud to announce that Isabel, a 2019-2020 Year 9 pupil, was highly commended for the 2020 Wimbledon BookFest Young Writers’ Competition (KS3 category) for her poem 'The Secret'. Congratulations to Isabel and the 5 additional pupils whose submissions were recognised among 367 entries from 53 local schools: Luisa, Zoe, (KS3) (Year 9 - 2019-20), Alvaro, Hannah (KS4) (Year 10, 2019-20) and William (KS4) (Year 11 - 2019-20)

Wimbledon BookFest annually hosts the Young Writers’ Competition. This year, pupils were invited to submit an imaginative story or a poem around the theme of ‘The Secret’. Pupils were encouraged to take inspiration from examples in literature (such as The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Secret Garden and Harry Potter) or from their own personal experiences.
