Head’s blog – 27th May

It has been a glorious afternoon of Jubilee celebrations. We have enjoyed a special Jubilee lunch, an exciting competition to construct the best throne for Her Majesty, a raffle for the unique prize of ‘being the Headmaster for the day’ and a gripping staff v pupils cricket match. The place has been decked with bunting and two giant Union flags. It has been a tremendous opportunity for us all to come together as one big family. Thank you to Miss Partington and to the brilliant ‘Jubilee Planning Committee’ comprising a group of Year 9 pupils who have done us proud.
I hope you enjoy a super Jubilee celebration with your families next weekend, when the whole nation will celebrate the extraordinary dedication and duty of our monarch. As I pointed out to the school today, Her Majesty ascended to throne before any of us were even born, including the staff!
I wish everyone a very pleasant half-term break.

Yours,

A J Hammond
