Head’s blog 6th June

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I know this week has been eventful and I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for the overwhelming support and messages I have received after the announcement of the Head’s role at HSW.

I will have the opportunity to see you at upcoming events if there are any questions, but my door is always open for you if you have anything you feel needs discussing.

If you are a new parent or have not had the opportunity to meet me, please contact office@hsw.co.uk for my PA Nillie Giancristofaro to organise a convenient time.

Please see below my Head’s welcome from the website as an introduction to the next exciting chapter at HSW.

A warm welcome to Hall School Wimbledon, a dynamic and vibrant place of learning occupying a wonderful campus in the heart of Wimbledon.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Hall School Wimbledon, an ambitious, all ability and nurturing independent school for pupils from Year 3 to Year 13.

At HSW, we believe that every child deserves to be known, respected, and supported as an individual. As a non-selective, all-ability school, we welcome children of all academic backgrounds, interests, and aspirations. Whether a child joins us at age 7 or 17, they become part of a close-knit school where they are encouraged to be themselves and to grow in confidence and character.

HSW is a community. More than a community, it’s a family. We are proud of our strong family values – kindness, respect, honesty, and compassion – which shape the way we teach, learn, and relate to one another every day. These values create a safe and positive environment in which every child can flourish.

When we talk about family, we think of a homely place where you are seen, heard, and valued—not for who you’re expected to be, but for who you truly are. That’s exactly what HSW stands for. It’s a school that places relationships at the heart of learning, where every child is known by name, and where every story matters.

Our school provides a rich and engaging education, with a broad curriculum and personalised support from dedicated and passionate staff. We offer both academic challenge and strong pastoral care, ensuring that pupils are not only well-prepared for exams, university, or employment – but also for life beyond the school gates.

From the curiosity sparked in our younger learners in Year 3, to the independence and ambition we nurture in our Sixth Formers, HSW offers a continuous journey where children are guided to discover their strengths, develop resilience, and grow into capable, caring young adults.

I warmly invite you to visit us, meet our students and staff, and experience the unique atmosphere of support, encouragement, and belonging that defines our school community.

With best wishes,

Jack Tyson
