Yesterday, I bulldozed some space into my diary to pop up to Oberon to see an exciting spectacle indeed, albeit a rain-soaked one. Our junior pupils were engaging in football training on the wide expanse of fields we are so fortunate to have. This, in itself, is hardly rare – we use Oberon every day now for so many different learning activities; what was particularly special was who they were training with – it was the junior pupils from The London Acorn School. This is a wonderful school which has recently joined the Chatsworth family, just 12 minutes away. Found in the idyllic setting of the National Trust’s Morden Hall Park, The London Acorn is a very creative and nurturing school for Nursery to Year 6 pupils, which shares so much of our ethos and philosophy. We are delighted to welcome them as our closest sister school in the Chatsworth group and we look forward to enjoying some combined sporting activities and social events.
The children were training together in readiness for a Chatsworth Schools Football Festival taking place in November. I am looking forward very much to seeing our brave players bring home the silverware!
Have a good weekend all.
