Head’s blog – 11th October

We welcomed more families to The Hall this week for our Autumn Open Mornings. I am always so very proud of the children, as they eagerly show parents and potential new friends around the school. They are open, honest and friendly and this doesn’t happen by accident: ours is a culture in which our children feel safe and confident, able to greet new faces with a welcoming smile and an eagerness to tell them how much they enjoy it here. My sincere thanks to everyone, staff and pupils alike, who gave up their time on Saturday particularly, to showcase our school. As a parent myself, I am all too aware of the dedication required to get children out of bed and off to school on a Saturday morning! Thank you.

You will see in this week’s newsletter that we have been conducting some interesting experiments in Science this week. We are very fortunate to have three well-equipped science labs in which we can deliver practical lessons like this. As I often say, true learning comes not only from reading textbooks but participating in hands-on investigations that develop our understanding of how, and why, things work the way they do. I am happy to say that with our continued commitment to small classes and lots of resources, such learning is commonplace here at The Hall!
