Head’s blog – 14th June

What a glorious day our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils have had today up at Oberon, as we hosted this year’s annual Chatsworth Schools Cricket Festival. The weather has been reasonably kind and I am pleased to say it has been a tremendous afternoon of sport and friendship. The children played superbly and won several of their matches! Special thanks must go to Mr Thompson of Chatsworth Schools, and our very own Ms Offori, for organising this great event, and to Mr MacIntosh of course for assisting with umpiring and coaching.

Our Year 5 pupils enjoyed an overnight camp at Gilwell Park this week. During the two days of adventure, they joined many pupils from other schools at a giant campfire. Never short of self-confidence and humour, our wonderful children performed solo songs, told ghost stories and gave talks. My thanks to Mr Foulder-Hughes and Ms Whitcombe for their tireless dedication and care throughout the trip.

Today we saw the last GCSE exam take place for the majority of our Year 11 students. They have been so committed and so self-disciplined these past few weeks and we are so very proud of them all. Another milestone reached and another door opens, which I know they will stride through with confidence, self-worth and optimism for the outstanding futures that await them. Go get it, you brilliant people!
