Welcome to Hall School Wimbledon, the inclusive, independent co-educational school for pupils aged 9 to 18.

A warm welcome to Hall School Wimbledon, a dynamic and vibrant place of learning occupying a magical campus in the heart of Wimbledon.

Here at HSW, we are very proud to be a non-selective school, precisely because we know that innate ability comes in many forms, extending far beyond the narrow metric of academic assessment. We don’t just ask ‘How smart are you?’, rather we pose the question, ‘How are you smart?’ Our cherished pupils make up a lively community of budding scientists, artists, dancers, authors, carers, musicians and athletes, all sharing a spirit of adventure and a thirst for knowledge. We work hard to enable every one of us to find our ‘element’ and to feel valued for who we are and the unique contribution we bring to the school. Many pupils will discover talents at HSW which they never knew they had, such is the privilege and pleasure of working here.

There is a buzz about the place, and so there should be; we believe that school should be a place where joyful memories are made and lifelong friendships are forged. We are united in our resolve to champion the deep-down-things that make learning and living together worthwhile. Our pupils’ jerseys bear the letters HSW, a daily reminder that for any of us to flourish and become the best version of ourselves, first we must look after our Health and Self-Worth. We constantly view the ‘whole child’ in front of us because we know that from self-worth comes self-discipline, which ultimately enables us all to reach our full potential.

Head of our mighty Hall School Wimbledon, Andrew Hammond is leaving his role at the end of the Autumn Term but staying firmly within the Chatsworth Schools family and embarking on an exciting new role as Director of Professional Development for our UK and International Schools 🙌🏻

HSW has enjoyed a wonderful period of growth and success under Andrew’s leadership culminating in the schools excellent ISI Inspection in December 2023.

We are delighted to announce that Mr David Bradbury has been appointed as Head of HSW from January 2025. He joins having previously been Head at Portland Place School, an innovative hybrid independent school in London.

On his appointment, David Bradbury said “Hall School Wimbledon is a happy and nurturing school with a culture of contemporary and inclusive education. I share its positive and empathic ethos and am very much looking forward to working with the staff, parents and especially pupils, building on the excellent work led by Andrew Hammond. I am excited by the prospect of guiding HSW as we go forward, ensuring that its offer continues to be bespoke, nurturing and ambitious for all its pupils.”

Andrew Hammond reflected “Leading Hall School Wimbledon has been a privilege, and I am very pleased to see the school on such an exciting forward trajectory.
I am delighted David will be my successor and I will be working closely with him in the coming months to ensure a smooth and comprehensive handover. I know for certain that David is equally committed to an inclusive culture, first-class pastoral care, and ambitious, tailored teaching as I am. With the continued support of Chatsworth Schools, the future looks bright indeed for HSW.”

On David’s appointment, Chatsworth Schools Founder and CEO, Anita Gleave said “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew for everything he has achieved at the HSW, the first ever school in the Chatsworth Family, including the truly fantastic ISI Inspection at the end of last year. HSW is the most special of school communities and I have no doubt that David will lead HSW into a new period of further growth, achievement, and memories for all to share and enjoy.”
